Cingia de' Botti - Historic center

The first mention of "Cingla" dates back to a deed of the XI century, where the name of the village appeared together with those of the nearby villages of  Pieve Gurata and Vidiceto, the two historical centres forming the current municipality of  Cingia de' Botti. In the village we find the parish church of the Saints Peter and John, a 20th-century building containing numerous works of artists from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. A halt is worthwhile at Pieve di Gurata, home of a very ancient parish church which, to date, is one of the oldest buildings in the area still open for worship.
