Centro storico

The name of the village derives from the Latin Aqua nigra, which refers to the waters of the river Chiese. In the historic centre we find the parish church inside of which there are important frescoes dating back to the Romanic age. The eighteenth century Sanctuary of Saint Fortunate on the other hand is home to frescoes and paintings of the  XVIII century. A short distance away we find the Oasis Le Bine, a WWF nature reserve populated by water fowl.
