The European cycling path EuroVelo 8 is about 6000 km long and starts in Cadiz (Spain) and reaches Athens in Greece, and Cyprus. It crosses Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece for reaching Cyprus. In the Italian stretch it follows the Po River flow, from the Alps until the Adriatic Sea, passing through evocative landscapes. The Italian way is the only one being partially complete, from Pavia to the Sea.
EuroVelo is a network of high-quality cycling ways that links the entire Europe. These are usable both from long-distance cyclists and tourists and/or inhabitants that organize daily trips. The European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) coordinates the development of EuroVelo that so far includes 15 greenways and that is foreseen to be completed within the 2020.
